Friends of the Chappaqua Library

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Submissions are closed for the 35th Annual Friends of the Chappaqua Library Young Writers Contest.

Thanks for submitting your work to the 2015 Young Writers Contest.

We hope you find the e-sub registration and uploading simple and easy.

ONLINE SUBMISSIONS CLOSE AT 11:59 pm Friday night, March 27 and the site will "shut down". If you have a problem submitting your work BEFORE THE DEADLINE, or get an error message prior to the deadline, email fotcl.ywc@gmail.com with the word "Problem" in the subject line, as soon as possible.

Select the genre category your work fits into and fill in the registration form with your contact info (invisible to the Judges). This is the only place your personal details will appear. Then upload your manuscript. You can submit one piece per category, max, in up to three categories (fiction, non-fiction, poetry).

Here is a short summary of the Offical Rules.

Rule #1. Read all of the FAQs and Official Rules.

2 The author's name may not appear anywhere on manuscripts.

3 Number the pages.

4 Submissions may be a maximum of 10 pages in 12-point type, double-spaced. See specific rules for formatting plays and poetry.

5. The site will shut down automatically at the deadline, 11:59 pm Friday March 27th 2015, and no more submissions can be accepted.
If you have a problem submitting your work before the deadline, or if you get an error message, email fotcl.ywc@gmail.com right away with the word "Problem" in the subject line.

Before submitting, read the full FAQs and Official Rules carefully. These can be downloaded from the Chappaqua Library website (chappaqualibrary.org) - go to the Friends page.
They can also be picked up at the Library and the schools. Entries that don't follow the Official Rules will be disqualified.

Contact us if you have any questions, comments or suggestions.

Congratulations! Whether your piece "wins" or not, you can be proud that you have crafted it and are taking this step to share it. Keep writing!

The judges look forward to reading your work. GOOD LUCK!

* Alternatively, hard copies will be accepted (4 blind copies plus one entry form) until the March 27th deadline - 3 pm at school English departments or 6 pm (close of day) at the Chappaqua Library circulation desk. See Official Rules for formatting required for hard copies.
